LOL, LET ME EXPLAIN BEFORE YOU ALL START GOING "D: QURAT U SUCK."

I was searching for good lineart to color on deviantART, and I saw this and I was like "wtfwtfwtf?!" It's so disproportionate and pedo I kept on going D: and ;______; at it. And I started doing this with the intent of posting it on dA and being all trolly and wank-mongering, but I just don't have the heart to. >: So I decided to post it on here; hopefully you guys'll see my [immature] humor in it. :3

The beach picture in the BG is from stock.XCHNG, btw.

I have some sketches on the way, don't worry.

AS ALWAYS, I LOVE YOU ALL AND I'M ALWAYS WATCHING.

ETA: Wow, I didn't realize my layout cuts pictures off. Right click and hit your equivalent of "view image" to see the full thing. D: Also, I worked on this mostly on my laptop, and the colors looked much better on it than my mom's computer. I gotta start double checking. ;__;

I went through 50 different color combinations for the dress before I found one I liked. I'm still not too sure of it, but at the same time I love it.

I initially started coloring this picture two years ago, then stopped, worked on it some more, stopped again and then came back to it recently. Jeez. I'm sorry there's no distinguishable light source, background, or ropes supporting the swing, but I tried...you know? I'm rusty! D:

+ Each pixel was done by hand on that head. The pixel tool, 1 pt, 10% opacity. Yeaaaaaah.
Shading
+ I'm really proud of how "painterly" my shading is looking now. It used to be very harsh cell shading, but I've learned that layers and the flow tool can do a picture good.

Ooooh, the ever-dreaded awkward first post! How exciting. :D

Hey everyone, welcome to my art journal. My name is Qurat, and I like to draw. I used to draw a lot two years ago, but then I've kind of been in a rut since then and haven't been able to do much past doodling. I've recently picked up my pen, paper and...mouse...again and hope that I can shake off the rust and continue improving. Mostly, I've just been coloring other people's linearts, but baby steps. :)

So with that, let me get all the yucky "not pretty" art out of the way!

I'm thinking about reinstalling Painter IX onto my laptop. I deleted it a week ago thinking I was never going to use it again, and looking through my old doodles on there, I miss it again. ;___;

Wow, this isn't a really convincing first post. I assure you, my art is usually much better than this!
